Radyr Eyecare first opened in April 2006. I opened the practice because I believe that independent practices like ours can offer a great service to the local community. Our location means that we ideally situated for patients from Radyr, Morganstown, Danescourt, Pentyrch, Gwaelod, Taff’s Well, Tongwynlais, LLandaff, Whitchurch—though of course we welcome patients wherever they happen to live! I’m originally from Cardiff, and I’ve been an optometrist since 1982. I’m also a Welsh speaker, and many patients—and their Welsh speaking children—appreciate the fact that I can conduct an eye examination in Welsh, using a Welsh language chart. As part of our commitment to providing great service, we have: · Invested in the latest equipment for examining eyes and testing eyesight (and don’t believe the recent TV ads—we are at least as well equipped as any high street chain!); · Become accredited to the Welsh ’Shared Care’, ’WECI’, direct referral and LVA schemes. · Built up a great range of frames and contact lenses to enable us to offer the best possible choice for all our patients. · Recruited a fully qualified, dispensing optician who can give expert advice on your choice of frames, lenses and contact lenses. Above all, because we are completely independent I have complete freedom to respond to my patient’s clinical needs, and provide professional advice about different options that are available to each patient without the inevitable pressures that are encountered in busy high street practices. |
